How SpecRide works
SpecRide is a motorcycle spec database. These are the rules every figure on the site follows.
Where the specs come from
Specs are taken from published sources such as motorcycle spec databases, manufacturer material and road tests. When sources disagree by more than a small margin, the figure is left empty rather than picking one.
Nothing is estimated
A figure that can't be verified stays blank and is shown as a dash. No number on the site is a guess.
Units
Power is given in hp. Metric horsepower (PS, CV) is a different, larger number, so figures are never relabeled between the two. Torque is in Nm and weight in kg, marked dry or wet when the source says which. Launch prices are in the currency of the market they were announced for.
Photos and videos
Photos come from Wikimedia Commons under free licenses (CC0, CC BY or CC BY-SA), checked on each file's own Commons page, and the license is shown with the photo. Review videos are embedded from YouTube, not copied.
Corrections
If a figure looks wrong, let us know and we'll check it against the sources.
